Iβm excited to share my latest creation, “Recurring Nightmare,” which is officially out now and streaming everywhere! This track is a bit of a departure, diving deep into the heavier, darker edges of Hard House with a twist.
The Vibe: Where Hard House Meets the Abyss
When I sat down to produce this track, the goal was to capture that unsettling, relentless feeling of a bad dream that keeps coming backβthat nagging sense of unease. I wanted to move away from the typical euphoria and instead inject a dark, hypnotic energy into the classic Hard House framework.
“Recurring Nightmare” is built around a punishing, persistent kick drum, layered with sharp, almost metallic synth lines that cut through the mix. It’s designed to be driving and intense, perfect for those late-night sessions where the only thing that matters is the bass. Think less sunshine and more industrial warehouse rave.
Process and Production Notes
This one really came together when I finalised the main bass sequence. Getting that low-end rumble to sound both massive and tightly controlled was key to maintaining the dark atmosphere. I spent a lot of time on the arrangement, letting the tension build and drop to mirror the intensity spikes you feel in a real nightmare. I hope that sense of tension comes across when you listen!
